Hayward Gallery 是我在倫敦最愛的三個展覽空間之一,另兩個分別為 Camden Art Centre和 Whitechapel Gallery,最近在這三間接連看到很不錯展覽。Pipilotti這個展覽是我到倫敦一年多至今可稱數一數二,無論是作品質量、展場空間規畫到感官的體驗,都有很高的水準。
2011年9月28日至2012年1月8日在 Hayward Gallery 展出的《Eyeball Massage 眼球按摩》為出生於1962年的瑞士女藝術家Pipilotti Rist Pipilotti從1980年代中期至今創作的其中30件作品個展,。Pipilotti是一位錄像裝置藝術家,她改變了我們觀看和體驗移動影像(錄像)的方式,她說: 「當我閉起眼睛的時候,我總讓想像任意徜徉。同樣地,我想創造一個空間讓錄像藝術使我們重新思考其本身的性質。我也想發掘這世界新的配置方式,無論是外在世界或內在世界。」在Hayward的空間內,Pipilotti創造了許多既相連卻也分離的區域,各個錄像和裝置聲音相互干擾融合,我走在這空間內、躺著臥著看著凝聽著,彷彿不知不覺進入到夢境中另一個世界內,也讓想像開始翩然起舞了。

This exhibition, her first survey show in the UK, presents single channel videos, sculptures, photographs, wallpapers and video installations spanning her career from the 1980s to today. Highly accomplished technically and employing dazzling colour, Rist's practice fuses sensual images, music and text to create mesmerising installations. Rist creates a total sensory experience for her audience by showing her works within architectural installations conceived specially for particular spaces.

三面巨大的螢幕前散落了一地的小型懶骨頭,人們可以隨意地坐臥或躺著欣賞,心靈也隨著演前繽紛的色彩漾漾飄動,在觀賞的同時卻萌生出一個念頭,我是在夢境中嗎? 一開始如此虛幻地在水裡漂盪,一會兒卻在草地上爬行像野豬般啃食著蘋果,下幾秒在被似乎是女性MC染紅的海水裡起起伏伏,如此超現實的場景,儘管是閉著眼或睜著眼看,悠悠的音樂都將人們帶往了另一個內在的世界。
